Conscious Healing with The Healthy Apple Founder Amie Valpone

Amie Valpone is a true champion of conscious health. She shares selflessly from her own hard-earned experience, spreading a life-changing message that unlocks the natural ability for the body to heal itself.

As a self-possessed mind-body guru, she is a far cry from her corporate fashion career she once dreamed of. A series of life-threatening illnesses stopped her fast-track up the corporate ladder. Amie fought a ten year battle with diseases such as Lyme disease, PCOS, and c-diff colitis. Her debilitating symptoms ran circles around the most astute experts in the field, leaving her with nothing but mounting medical bills and an apathetic shrug from the medical community.

The experience led Amie to dedicate the rest of her life to helping others get to the bottom of their ailments and take ownership of their health.

Conscious Connection: What was the catalyst for you that sparked your decision to take your health into your own hands?

Amie Valpone: It was most of all that no one was helping me. I was like “I’m done. I’m exhausted. I’m no longer trusting these people outside of me with my body.” They’re guessing. Everybody’s guessing … I wasn’t even living. I was just surviving. What sparked my interest was not knowing, and trusting my intuition as the base of my work.

Conscious Connection: In your book, you talk about toxicity and the healing powers of food and detoxing. Could you shed some light on key parts of detoxing that worked for you?

Amie Valpone: Number one for me, you really need to filter your tap water. The amount of junk in your tap water is completely toxic. Another step is eating organic. People are starting to catch on, because they’re realizing the amount of toxins around us is atrocious. Your job, everyday, is to lessen the amount of toxic body-burdens you have. When you figure out what works, you just wanna cut the crap and get right to it. I go into a lot of information on my website, as well as information in my book.

Conscious Connection: You mentioned you’ll be writing another book. Will there be a sequel to Eating Clean?

Amie Valpone: Oh there is, and it’s all about consciousness. I can’t give away too much, but it’s another cookbook, and it’ll dive deeper into consciousness. What I have realized with all of my clients is that there are three layers: physical, energetic, and emotional. You have to look at all three in order to have a healthy body. In my first book, all I really covered was the physical, because I didn’t really understand there were emotional and energetic components, I didn’t want to believe it. My next book will cover these next steps, and it’ll probably come out in 2020.

Conscious Connection: How do you prepare yourself emotionally each day in going through your healing process?

Amie Valpone: I found that a lot of people don’t understand what you’re going through, so you’re very much alone. Everyone around you is just taking a pill, so people think you’re crazy. You have to be your own cheerleader. People think you’re just being selfish or it’s in your head. But somehow, I have written a book, started a business, and healed myself, all by myself. Most of the answers that will come to you will come from your subconscious mind. The more you slow down and move away from the noise of outside life, you will start to get answers. It really comes down to trusting yourself, following your intuition, and literally looking at yourself in the mirror every morning and saying “I got this. If I don’t figure this out, no one will.”

Conscious Connection: You work with clients, is that correct?

Amie Valpone: I do! Everyone from celebrities, to clients in Dubai and London. I have clients all over the world, and the basis for my next book is that the same thing is going on with everybody. I’ve developed methods using neuroscience, the mind-body connection, and really bringing women to an understanding and rewiring of their entire bodies. It all comes down to consciousness , it all comes down to empowering yourself. All of my work now comes under the umbrella of empowering women. Once you start to gain an awareness  of all the junk from your past, you’ll know how you got to where you are.

Conscious Connection: Last but not least, what advice would you give to anyone on a similar journey as yours or who’s interested in alternative healing?

Amie Valpone: Stop wasting all of your energy trying to control what’s going on. Healing isn’t going to happen overnight. It’s going to take a few years to fully heal the body, and you’ve got to be patient with yourself. If you’re cortisol goes up because you’re stressed out about your body, you’re never going to heal. You have to surrender, and that doesn’t mean sitting on your couch eating Cheetos. It means realizing you’re partially in charge, but there’s also something that makes the sun rise and the moon come up every day, that makes the grass grow and the seasons change. It’s a long, long journey, and at the end of the day, it’s only you … You have all the answers inside of you. You just need to get quiet enough to hear them, and follow the signs.

Amie is author of the cookbook Eating Clean: The 21-Day Plan to Detox, Fight Inflammation, and Reset Your Body. She is founder of theHealthyApple.com, and speaks at dozens of seminars, retreats, and conferences each year, as well as individually coaching clients from around the world.
