I am very lucky to call the Jersey Shore home.  Our land is truly an inspiring and beautiful place to live.  Although some people may leave and explore or move to other regions, the shore will always be their home.  Such is the mentality of the locals who hail from Jersey.  Many people from around the world know the Jersey Shore and all it has to offer from beautiful sunrise beaches to an amazing local music scene.

Life at the Jersey Shore is about appreciation for the beauty of our land and a focus on local community & respect for the ocean and environment.

Lately, the Jersey Shore has been given a misconstrued reputation thanks to the wizards of manipulation on MTV .  The world now believes Snooki is what the Jersey Shore is all about.  Well I can assure you, nothing can be further from the truth.  Snooki is not even from NJ!  The real Jersey Shore is about much more than Guido fist pumping and Djais – although that is a huge part of it! (kidding)

Bruce Springsteen, an international rock star, hailed from our humble town of Belmar, and named his band after our now famous E Street.  Bruce frequently stops into the bar that made him famous, The Stone Pony, and plays a surprise set for some very lucky patrons.  Asbury Park, a local shore town, is known for a very happening music scene, and I have had the pleasure sharing the stage with some of my favorite local artists.  The surf culture here is thriving with waves a few weeks ago that were on par with parts of Hawaii or California.

There’s also a great local Jersey publication, Natural Awakenings, that covers various topics on all aspects of conscious life and healthy living.  Lauren Forney, one of the contributors to this blog, is a local yoga teacher and holistic health counselor who brings people together around spiritually healthy education.  It is very inspiring to watch our area flourish with local farming, and various social organizations coming together for good causes as well.  In the near future, I will be partnering with these organizations on various social initiatives and media partnerships (hint: this is a vision statement! make one for yourself and watch how amazing things begin to manifest in your life!)

I designed this blog as a way to evolve consciousness, and it’s'purpose has now evolved to so much more than that.  My vision is to bring people together from all over the world under the ideas of love, peace, sustainability and cooperation for the greater good.  I “caught” this vision several years ago and have nurtured it since then by thinking about it constantly.  When you begin using the law of attraction, life starts wanting something out of you and flowing in ways you never thought possible.  You begin to become part of the cosmic evolutionary process which is always moving towards greater complexity and harmony.  This is the process of evolution – this is God.  They are one in the same, and You Are It.

What vision is moving through you?  Begin by asking the question.

While our purpose in life may be much grander than the Jersey shore, we must never forget that our purpose has to do with right here as well.  Our goals, dreams and aspirations may take us to California, Hawaii, Barbados or Puerto Rico but for us, Jersey will always be home. The feeling of the warm sand between your toes, and the hot sweaty smell of garlic in Djais, will always bring us back.

If there is one thing I’ve learned from being home, its that home can never really leave you.  Wherever you go, home is in your head.  It’s who you are and where you are all the time – it has shaped who we are as a person, no matter where we may be hailing from.  When we can learn to live life with the “conscious connection” we are always connected to our home, because our mind is always in the same state – peace, love and gratitude.  By living in this emotional state, the universe begins to move around us and becomes a creative dance that you play with reality.

Jersey is connected to the rest of the world, and while we may spread our seeds out and connect with other enlightened minds across the globe, we will always remember to give back right here at home.  It is where our families and friends are, and is a gathering place for people from all over - especially in the summer.

Each of us have a purpose.  Open your mind to the possibilities and act on them.

The same things that unite what is good about the Jersey shore - such as beauty, love, relationships and appreciation of life – are also what unites us as a global race.  As our world shrinks with the rise of globalization, people from all over will begin integrating more and more.  As we come together under the ideas of shared mutual value and cooperation, we will honor our diversity and embrace unity.  This is the true spirit of Jersey and its inhabitants.

So now matter where I may go, or where I may visit, I will always know that I will connect with like-minded individuals aimed at coming together in cooperation for the betterment of our world.  Jersey is my home, but Earth is my planet.  So in our travels, remember that we actually share the same home – Mother Earth.  Nation states are simply an outdated concept for an evolving planetary consciousness.  In order to honor our home in the broader sense, we must take our local attitude of respect and appreciation and apply it to everyone and everywhere.  I find that no matter where I go, people share the same welcoming and loving spirit – such is the nature of the law of attraction.

What we do in the present will have a profound effect on our world in the future.  Take what you love about your home and share it with the world.  Through sharing our mutual love, we can begin to heal our world and evolve to our next great purpose together: unity, peace and prosperity for the whole world.

We have an expression in England “Home is where the heart is” that has been attributed to Pliny the Elder but I cannot find any corroboration of that.
As for love, Martin Luther King spoke thus in his 1964 acceptance speech for his Nobel Peace Prize:

…nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral question of our time – the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to violence and oppression. Civilization and violence are antithetical concepts. Negroes of the United States, following the people of India, have demonstrated that nonviolence is not sterile passivity, but a powerful moral force which makes for social transformation. Sooner or later all the people of the world will have to discover a way to live together in peace, and thereby transform this pending cosmic elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. If this is to be achieved, man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.

Only love will heal this wounded world – we are wrong to talk of a “war on terror” because that meets aggression with aggression. What we need is love. How right the Beatles were in the 1960′s!!!

I shall be creating a link from my website to yours – we are fellow cultural creatives!
